The placeholder displays and hovering doesn't change it. The Blocked Objects menu just gives another way of unblocking the video so it plays, no poster.

Personally, I use Adblock Plus with subscriptions for blocking all the things I don't want and if a domain is explicitly filtered there, it goes straight to Untrusted in NoScript. You're using Firefox...
